Previous Investment Period
2020-2025

Every five years we prepare a regulatory business plan which is submitted to Ofwat as part of the Price Review process. The plans are based on customer views and cover our performance commitments, efficiency, investments, and bills. Below is an example of the work carried out in your area during the previous investment period 2020-2025.

Case Study
Building Resilience in Rhymney’s Drinking Water Network

We invested £10 million to upgrade the drinking water network in Rhymney, Deri and the surrounding areas, replacing approximately 13km of pipework. This essential work will help to improve the drinking water network and keep water flowing for the community.

During this project, we trialled a hybrid generator, which used Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and batteries to power the offices, drying rooms and toilets at one of the project’s largest site compounds. The use of the state-of-the-art battery alongside a generator to power the compound allowed us to reduce the generator size and run time by 55%. This meant that for an average of 12 and a half hours each day, the site was running off battery power alone, creating a silent and emission-free site.

To thank the local community while they undertook the work, we awarded over £7,000 to community groups in Rhymney and Bargoed through our Community Fund and donated a further £5,000 to the local foodbank.
