The geography of Conwy is characterised by the River Conwy, which creates a broad valley along the western portion of the county. This valley is flanked by the Denbigh Moors to the east and the mountains of Eryri National Park to the west. Several reservoirs can be found within these valleys, with the largest being Llyn Brenig, covering an area of 3.7 square kilometres and extending into Denbighshire.
Over the next five years, we will be focusing on investing for the future and our investment programme for Conwy will be looking to improve resilience in our drinking water network by replacing water pipes in areas which have been impacted by supply issues, as well as protecting and improving the environment by focusing our efforts on our wastewater treatment sites.
Every five years we prepare a regulatory business plan which is submitted to Ofwat as part of the Price Review process. The plans are based on customer views and cover our performance commitments, efficiency, investments, and bills. Below are some examples of the work carried out in your area during the previous investment period 2020-2025.

Dolwen Reservoir is located near the village of Llanefydd in Conwy County. The reservoir helps to feed nearby Plas Uchaf reservoir which in turn supplies drinking water to our Glascoed water treatment works near Boldewlyddan. Glascoed provides drinking water to Bodelwyddan, Kinmel Bay, Rhyl and surrounding areas.
During the summer of 2019 we invested over £5 million to replace the old spillway with a new wider and deeper overflow as well as installing a new stilling basin at the bottom of the spillway. This helps manage the flow of water into the reservoir to provide drinking water for the local area.

We invested £1.2 million to repair and improve our Dolgarrog pipebridge which spans the Conwy River. As well as carrying the drinking water pipes over the river, the bridge also connects Dolgarrog village with the train station.
Following our work to improve the bridge we have created an active travel route for pedestrians and bikers to enjoy.
